Our Story

Despite being a newly launched business, Danas Hope has been more than a decade in the making. Its foundation however, is built on over 30 years of hands on experience with dogs.

Founded by Bec Grant, Danas Hope reflects a life long commitment to canine health, behaviour, communication, and wellbeing.

After being born into a family lifestyle revolving around canine and equine knowledge and care, Bec's journey has touched every part of both species worlds, including nutrition, health and wellbeing, behaviour modification, and rehabilitation work with the primary focus of the animals fulfillment in every area of their unique lives.

Bec turned her focus specifically to the dog world and learning more about their instinctual behaviours in the year 2000 when she bagan raising an 8 week old Rottweiler as her first solo responsibility of a canine.

Not only did she love the breed, Bec also wanted to show the human race that despite how the media portrayed not only Rottweilers but every dog breed that they claimed to be 'aggressive' can be a well balanced family member when raised correctly and has a human willing to meets their needs (Bec welcomed her first human child into the world in 2003).

Growing up with various breeds (including multiple German Shepherd's....also classed as an 'aggresaive' breed in those times), she knew that the 'breed' is never the 'problem', no dog is born to be aggressive. Any form of aggression (regardless of breed) stems from the dogs needs not being met along with miscommunication and the misunderstanding of a dogs body language and intentions.

Bec has been deeply involved in dog rescue since 2012 - specialising in the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of dogs, many of whom had been saved from death row or had been in a variety of traumatic environments. This work continues today and is Bec's life long commitment to rescue those in need.

While Danas Hope currently focuses on natural, nutritious food and treats for dogs regardless of their dietary needs, the vision reaches far beyond that. Bec plans on expanding the business to include dog psychology and behaviour modification (as a qualified canine behaviouralist), dog sitting, and a carefully developed range of wellbeing products - including gentle shampoo's, deodorant's, and even thoughtfully designed dog beds for both indoor and outdoor use.

Bec's long term dream for Danas Hope is to create a dedicated rescue and rehabilitation sanctuary - a safe haven where every need, great or small, can be met in one place. A peaceful sanctuary that not only saves dogs in crisis, but also supports families within the community in building stronger, healthier relationships with their dogs in the hopes to reduce the millions of dogs being surrendered or abandoned every year (the majority being euthanized due to overcrowding or simply being misunderstood).

Alongside extensive practical, hands on experience, Bec holds certificate's in entry-level veterinary nursing and in the care, health, and wellbeing of companion animals. She is currently completing further formal certification in dog psychology, behaviour, and training; building on decades of real world experience and work with dogs from all backgrounds.

Danas Hope has been created for both humans and canines alike because with compassion, knowledge, and the right support, we can give our loyal companions the life they deserve by fulfillment of all their needs.
